A conference was held on the project "LiveHistory"

On June 7, 2021, a conference was held in Zelenogradsk within the framework of the project "Livehistory - creation a common history of a thousand years ago" under the Russia-Lithuania Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020. The conference was planned in 2020, but due to the epidemiological situation and coronavirus restrictions, it was postponed to June 2021.

The conference was attended by representatives of all project partners: the Administration of the Zelenograd town district Authority, Kaliningrad Regional Public Organization “Historical Reconstruction center“ Kaup ”, The Curonian History Club of the Republic of Lithuania, as well as representatives of the Joint Technical Secretariat, joined them via videoconference. Each project partner presented the results achieved within the framework of the project since the beginning of its implementation.

A gate tower has already been erected in the Viking village. Its height is 10 meters, width - 14. The plans include the construction of a smithy, a kitchen and a fence with a rear gate. All buildings are reconstruction of objects of the 9th-12th centuries. The costumes were sewn within the framework of the project. All of them are reconstructions of the outfits of the Viking era of the 9th-12th centuries, sewn according to the results of archaeological research. Including on the territory of the cities of Birka and Gotland (Sweden), Novgorod. In total, 10 costumes were created: 5 for men and 5 for women. All the costumes presented at the conference could be tried on, touched, and also found out the characteristics of each.

A Curonian fisherman's house, a Curonian farmer's house and a Viking's Curonian house will be erected in the village of the Curonians of the Republic of Lithuania. Currently, two houses have already been completed. Among them is the house of a Curonian fisherman with an area of ​​38.5 sq. meters and a height of 5.77 meters. A mobile exposition of five mannequins representing everyday life has been created. And also sewn seven costumes - reconstruction of the outfits of the inhabitants of the settlement of the Curonians. A total of 50 people took part in the conference.
